Every story needs someone to root against, and the Backseat Trip With My Stepmother comic has Bill. At 45, he runs his family like a roadside diner – he gives orders and expects service. Rachel is less a wife to him and more staff. His real loves are baseball and beer, plus every souvenir stand on the route. Bill also makes loud comments about other women, confident his wife would never stray. That confidence is his blind spot. The whole trip, he stares at everything except the two people in his backseat – and by the time he looks, it’s too late.
